Sydney Zoo

Sydney Zoo is a new zoo in Western Sydney. Opening in 2019, it offers a diverse and engaging education program designed to bring the curriculum to life. The zoo education team provides syllabus-linked learning experiences written and delivered by qualified teachers across a range of subjects including biology, geography, sustainability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of students from Early Stage 1 through to Stage 6 in an immersive zoo environment. With a strong focus on science and the natural world, students explore topics such as animal adaptations, ecosystems, classification, and conservation. Sydney Zoo has an experienced team of First Nations educators to deliver culturally respectful and authentic Aboriginal education, offering students a unique opportunity to learn about Indigenous perspectives, land management, and the significance of Country. As a fully accessible and inclusive venue, Sydney Zoo provides a dynamic setting where students can engage with real-world content that supports classroom learning and fosters a deeper understanding of the world around them.
